Don't give me no lip, son!

Hi, I'm John Conway, and I have not posted here before, but I am now, and I will again. I'm here to share some lippy tyrannosaurs.

Has anyone seen my teef? — Gorgosaurus libratus

So it turns out a lot of artists — including me — have been drawing theropod lips without giving it much thought. Some people, like Tracy Ford, have argued that theropods didn't have lips. Others have disagreed, but most of us have been drawing them with weird demi-lips for some time. This lips-poking-somewhat-below-the-lips thing is biologically weird, and work is being done on this (see Jaime Headden's blog post and the comments on it). I've plumbed for full-on lizard lips, and I've been updating all my drawings accordingly. Make theropods look like gummy old men, but that's kinda awesome.
